For the mailbox afficiandos

In 2008, we photographed many unusual mailboxes as we rode our bikes from coast to coast and published them in our blog. We had a request to continue that practice, but we have already realized that each country may have a slightly different roadside monument tradition. In Greece, there are roadside shrines. There are so many (like mailboxes in rural areas in the U.S.) that we are only photographing the unique or special ones.

This was the first one we saw outside of Methana.

As you can see, some are more ornate and different materials are used.

Hope this satisfies you mailbox lovers.

It appears fried squid tentacles are a staple but the fried weed is new. I imagine the Easter celebration will be amazing in terms of traditional foods and rituals. (P.S. The pics of the coastline are great and the boat is a classic.)

Hey Diana, we don't know what the weed was but it looked like boiled spinach with big thick stems when we saw it we both thought "ruined", but it had a pretty good flavor.
